Best bets for the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am

Matthieu Pavone won the Farmers Insurance Open Tournament last weekend, becoming the first Frenchman to win on the PGA Tour since 1907. He won in just his third start as a PGA Tour participant. Pavone was in fourth place in the 2024 season, with odds of 125-1 to win, when he beat Nicolas Hugard by one stroke with an 8-foot birdie on the 72nd hole of the Torrey Pines South Course. In the final round, Pavone showed off his San Diego record of 3-0 69, and after missing a pair of 3-footers on the 17th hole, he finished with a result of 13-0, 275.

Pavone (100-1 this week) will play in the AT & amp; ... 80 pros will be paired with 80 amateurs, but the latter will only play the first two days.

Like many of the other players, Rory Makila (8-1) hasn't played here often (only once in the past decade), but he came along when Pebble Beach became a branded event with increased prize money, judging glasses, etc. Scotty 850) made his Pebble Beach debut this week.

Victor Coffland (12-1) won the 2018 U. S. Amateur at Pebble Beach. Xander Schaffel (14-1) wasn't a frequent visitor to Pebble Beach, but he started 2024 with three fins in the top 10.

Jordan Sleeps (18-1) has played here every year since the AT& T Pebble Beach Pro-Am in 2017, with six Finns in the top 10 in his last 10 performances. Max Homa (18-1) has two top 10s in his last three starts here.

Patrick Cantley (20-1) is third in 2021 and fourth in 2022.

Collin Morikawa (22-1), Justin Thomas (28-1) and Ludwig Aberg (28-1) follow him on the coefficient table.

The Event

The AT& T Pebble Beach Pro-Am was founded in 1937 as the Bing Crosby National Pro-Am and was held near San Diego. Until 1958, the competition was played over 54 holes. Crosby's name remained on the tournament until 1985, eight years after his death. In 1986, it became the AT& amp; t, a role it has held ever since. The Monterey Peninsula, chaired by the famous Clint Eastwood, is a longtime organizer and charity. Idan was a regular at the tournament until 2016, and remains a leading tournament, regularly appearing on CBS Sports Cabin remarks during tournament weekend.

In previous years, 156 experts and 156 followers were paired to play on three courses. This year, only 80 experts and 80 followers will play on two courses, Pebble Beach Golf Links and Spyglass Hill Golf Course. This year, the number of supporters is dominated by athletes and business leaders, and the coefficient is low. In fact, there are almost no Bill Murrays or Rays Romanos, for example.

This year, there will be no conclusions at Pebble Beach, which has recently been called a "signature event."

Phil Mickelson (1998, 2005, 2007, 2012, 2019) has won five times at Pebble Beach, tying him with Mark O'Meara (1985, 1989, 1990, 1992, 1997). Other contenders include Sam Snead (1937, 1938, 1941, 1950), Jack Nicklaus (1967, 1972, 1973), Johnny Miller (1974, 1987, 1994), and Watt Watson (1977, 1978). Four players have won the AT& T and U. S. Open at Pebble Beach: Nicklaus, Watson, What Kite, and Tiger Woods.

The Field

The AT& T Pebble Beach Pro-Am has struggled to make it to the top in recent years. As a result, only 21 players from the top 100 in the Official Major Golf Rankings participated last year, and more than 50% of the members did not finish in the top 300. Top players have skipped Pebble Beach every year due to more favorable tournaments abroad, the availability of dates before the famous Phoenix Open, and the fact that many golfers do not want to play a six-hour round with fans.

This year, all players ranked in the top 30 of the major rankings and the top 50 of the 2022-2023 FedEx Cup rankings will travel to Pebble Beach. The tournament will also feature the top 10 players in the FedEx Cup fall rankings and the top scorers from the last three swing tournaments (Aon Swing 5).

The prize money has been further increased, with the main sponsor AT& amp; T taking on a major burden. From $9 million to $20 million, and the favorite to win will receive $3 million to $6 million.

The Courses

Pebber Beach Golf Links is one of the most iconic golf courses. This course was designed by Jack Neville and Douglas Grant in 1919 and was redesigned by Arnold Palmer and Sad Leighton in 2016, facing the Pacific Ocean and the background of the coast with a 6, 972 yard par 72. You can play. Pebber Beach is the second shortest hole background on the PGA tour. In addition, the number of bunkers is large (the total of 118 pieces in total, the most on the tour). There is no doubt that the whirlwind has the power to affect the result in any open, but the Blue Glass/ Riglass fairway is the fourth PGA tour, an average of 41 yards. Pore Annea's green is exceptionally small (3. 500 square meters) and spacious (10, 5 stimplets). Pebber Beach has been incorporated into tournaments since 1947 and is widely known as the toughest course this week.

Because of the square hole layout, the Penbe Beach has the shortest average driving distances on the tour, forcing to lay up on tee shots in many holes, taking almost all of the excellent features of lon g-legged players. This week, special attention has been paid to layout shots, which are one of the shortest holes on tours, gree n-in regulations.

This year, expensive players gather in the background, and some fans with high handicaps have grown a little (5-5 cm).

Most of the fairway is inclined toward the sea and crosses the hall. For this reason, if the ball is at the feet or above, the player will take your own shot from the uneven ground.

Courses similar to the Pebble Beach include two other courses of regular rotation: Spy Glass Hill, Monterey Peninsula (this year's no n-participation), Port Royal, Sea Earland, El Camareon, and Wai Lae.

The Spy Glass Hill Golf Course is a lin k-style golf course surrounded by trees, with 7, 041 yards par 72. Designed in 1966 by Robert Trent Jones Senior and slightly expanded during the renovation in 2019. Even after the renovation, Spy Glass is the third most long course that plays every year on the PGA tour. It is protected from the wind than the Pebble Beach, but it has the potential to be the most difficult course (the eighth tough on last year's tour). The fairway is still narrow (on average 29. 5 meters). The blu e-glass green that the player is looking forward to is larger (5, 000 square meters) and slower (10, 5 pitch) than the Pebble Beach. Spy Glass Hill has been participating every year since 1967, except for the first year.

Courses similar to Spyglass Hill include Pebble Beach, Monterey Peninsula, Port Royal, Sea Island, El Camaleon and Waialae.

As with Torrey Pines last week, players will play the first two rounds at Pebble Beach and the second at Spyglass Hill. The final two rounds will be played at Pebble Beach.

Pebble Beach is the sixth most difficult backdrop on the PGA Tour each year, and it is possible to shoot due to several factors, including the course's side beds, low-volume elevated greens (3, 500 square feet) and a large number of windy conditions.

Selections

If there is a "distance horse" on the Pebble Beach, this horse will sleep.

He won here in 2017 and contains six fins in the top 10 for 10 giga in this tournament.

At the beginning of the season, he approached the third space in the St. Tournament, led the background of this IRGE in Pat, and gained a stroke in all categories.

Patrick Country (20 wins and 1 loss, Circus Sports)

Cantley did not show a good point in Torie Pains, and borrowed T-56 last week. However, he was pretty good on the Penber Beach, and the 7 wins and 7 losses did not miss the cu t-off.

He borrowed the third space here in 2021, and when he led the league with the number of strokes, he led four spaces a year on the right.

Jason Day (55-1, FANDUEL)

Last week, the day failed through a rare segment in the Torie Pains, which had already won twice.

However, the price has increased more than twice since last week. This is included in a company tournament consisting of larger class members, and in the past eight concerts here, this is the top seven times in the top 11 and seven times in the top 11. It is seen by further reactions.

Bo Hosler (70-1, Caesers Sports Book)

Last week, Hosler left the T-6, but play with TU did not allow him to be at the center of the event on Saturday finish.

The wide pe b-Beach fern could reduce the effectiveness of the game with Tee, and in Torips Ins, Hosler has overcome it with his own Iianon and Patter.

In the year, he borrowed the third place here.

Windem Clark (80-1, BETMGM)

Clark missed the cut twice in three holes here, and in 2024, borrowed the 39th and 29th space.

He graduated from the St. Tournament with a 63 score and left 64 in the second round of the American Express Tournament.

I'm not good at one pattern, but this week I will return to Green Pore, one of the best PGA tours.

Adam Scott (85-1, Circus Sports)

Scott starts his 2024 campaign from the T-7 of the Dubai Dessert Classic Tournament, which is the ninth top 10 in the past 18 times, starting with the Bermuda tournament last November. It is in the top 10.

In 2018 and 2019, Scott did not fall into the limit, but finally reached the top 10 at the 2019 Pebble Beach Championship.

Bazaar-Bet and match will be published on Wednesday on vsin. com/picks website
