By Olivia Ireland
Treasurer Jim Chalmers used Question Time to defend his targeting of the Australian Mail board as an incomplete director by former Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk, who avoided evidence when the report on the destination was published in the municipal sector.
In February 2023, Labor appointed former Australian State Services Secretary Linnell Briggs to analyze the "workplace culture for comrades" that is destroying positions in the municipal sector.

The report is still under government consideration.
TIL Party MP Sophia Scamps questioned:
The government only appointed Labor's former premier [Palaszczuk] to the post of Australian Mail board last week. She replaced the former Liberal Party chief executive, before the coalition came into power, so it's not surprising.
In February 2023, this government directed the implementation of an education program to recommend local government section directors to answer questions about transparency. A report on this evaluation was submitted to the government in August 2023.
Treasurer, it's been 12 months, why hasn't the report been made public? And when will it be made public?
Chalmers stood up to say that the report is still settling for government consideration, and defended the Igbo cause under the groans of the opposition.
August 22, 2024 14:02If you talk about former premier Palaszczuk, I don't think this is really a bad target on the Australian Mail Board Mail and I believe it's very difficult to support the argument, and actually disqualifying them in real time for the former premier display work in the premiership show of Queensland... for this important role.
We know that there is always a difference in opinion regarding the appointment to the government. Our job, our goals, and our achievements are to appoint an excellent human resource as a government position as possible.
