Judith Storch, PhD in Food Science, has received the 2025 Avanti Award from the South American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (ASBMB) for seminal contributions to lipid research. Storch's laboratory studies lipid movement within cells, focusing specifically on proteins that bind long-chain fatty acids, monoacylglycerol, and cholesterol. She is on the editorial board of the ASBMB Journal of Biological Chemistry and a member of the ASBMB Publications Committee. She is also a member of the ASBMB Lipid Science Section Core Committee. She is a member of the ASBMB and South American Society of Nutrition. The honor includes a concert and lecture at the ASBMB Annual Meeting 2025, which will be held April 12-15.
