EUROPE IN BELGIUM

The Belgian EU election Belgian EU elections and other simultaneous elections (federal elections and local elections) are the same as climate change and immigrants. Climate change and immigrants are issues, and the fresh Framan Union, the main political for Belgium, is confronted with the Green Party, which is growing in Framan and French.

Rest Eu Heart: EU's founding member Belgium is the first to discuss the essential problem of the EU's future. Belgium is a substantial home of the EU and an expert in the EU's political compromise. Guy Fellhoffstat fights for the president's post (it is considered to be liberal support at the Ma Stroricht discussion on April 29), and Nico Ku, a lef t-handed and former hig h-ranking official, fought for the European Commission Chairman. (Click here for an interview with Florian Edel).

This is a place where political parties gather and EU politicians collide over each role:

Economics and stupid: A little while ago, discussions on the EU tasks and live broadcasts, Europe's unique financial abilities as trading politicians and monopoly-issues in the EU Zone. With some benefit, almost all parties have established interest. Similarly, the parties have agreed on the need for subsequent integration in the domestic market of blocks in energy and digital phrases. The integration of the euro area helped, with a certain number of political parties promoting general budgets in the Euro area, and other political parties advocated the euro bonds.

External gender: Host Belgian political parties increase the EU's means to defend the ruling of the law and the potential of the EU, and in the UN Security Council in the UN Security Council. He wants to integrate the idea of renting one continuous space in the United Nations.

Immigration and climate change: The differences in opinions on migration have led to the collapse of the administration in December. Continuous protests by overwhelming and instigating people led to proposals to correct the constitution to guarantee that Belgium achieves weather goals, but this proposal excluding the Prime Minister's Liberal Party. It was stopped by a former partner.

FUN CORNER: PRESIDENTIAL HAIKU

He is an abbreviation as Van Rompay, is a Belgian municipality employee, in the past, and the first inventory chairman of the Euro Van Rompei Euro Council, probably left the EU university. But I haven't left the politician yet. In real time, Van Rompei led the analysis department of the European Policy Center and is active as a prominent honor student of the righ t-wing European political party. Other time, poetry is dedicated to walking, a Japanese business style.

We asked Van Rompay for a political miscellaneous feeling for the next European election in Belgium. He reports:

Voting pots are filled with almost full insults.

INSIDE BELGIUM

"As the mother Europe of all elections prepares for the EU's voting, almost all of Belgium focuses on the federal elections and local elections on May 26. To select the six state council, you need to pass three or its number and voting 4.

Belgium seems to be reconsidering himself again. The most ambiguous problem in the agenda is the balance between the constitutional revision of Belgium and the relevant territory and the nation's opportunity.

Initially, it was the right-wing nationalist party N-VA that wanted reform, and it did so in the context of the recent government failures. But in recent months, climatic changes have been added.

Earlier this month, in a late-night vote, the state parliament confirmed a list of constitutional parts likely to be amended in the next parliamentary session. But short-term prime minister Charles Michel blocked the process, fearing that conflicts would arise after the elections over how to balance opportunities and responsibilities between the Flemish and French-speaking communities.

Flashback to 2010: The constitution was once a major source of political stress in Belgium. In 2010 and 2011, Belgium went 541 days without a government. According to a sample survey (conducted by Social Broadcasting several times and published twice in print this week), political governance was fragmented on May 26 (only the Flemish Union uses more than 10% of the country's population), and the largest parties have clashed quite a bit in recent months and years. Belgium is preparing for a rather difficult government-forming process this summer (and we hope it doesn't last until winter or 2020).

A side effect of such a long government-forming process is that Belgium is unlikely to be one of the first countries to nominate its own proper Eurocommissioner. If you announce your candidacy too late, it reduces the chances that the next president will actually give you an important post.

PLAYBOOK INTERVIEW

Philippe Lamberts: Playbook spoke to Philippe Lamberts, a leading candidate for the Green Party in French-speaking Belgium. Lamberts is a long-time co-chair of the European Parliament's Green Caucus and a member of the six-member Parliamentary Brexit Steering Committee.

What are the main challenges of greening in Belgium? "According to the latest monitoring, the Greens, Walloons and Flemish will be the first political family in the Belgian Parliament, which is unusual both historically and by convention."

What did you like about the outgoing Juncker Commission? "Margrethe Wester is in charge of the tax issue. She has spared no expense in fighting abuses of dominance, and even in terms of tax incentives to ward off competition, she has really moved things forward."

What was the exception of the Yunkel Committee's exception? "They did not move the framework from ne o-liberal globalization to sustainable and comprehensive transition. [Jea n-Claude) Chairman Yunkel said that his committee would be the last chance. But he ruined this opportunity.

Are you afraid that the wave of nationalists and populists will rush to Europe? "I don't think the EU will be unrivaled. At the European Board, some of the populists have seats, but most of the other people are paralyzed by the European Board."

How did Belgium play an active role last year on the EU stage? The European Board is impossible to connect the stage of Erio De Lupi and Charles Michelle. [Michelle said and asked. [Marianne Tissen Public Public Office was working conscientiously without exposing himself. "

Will Brexit be realized? "I am convinced that this will not happen more and more.

POLLING, PARTIES AND PERSONALITIES

Politico's European Congress Tracker: Who is retiring and who will run for candidates. See the tracker in the browser

The data and images of this newsletter were realized by the Politico Pro Intelligence, a dialogu e-type platform designed for experts who track politics, business and industry. If you would like a trial, please contact [Email Protected]. You can track which European council members are active, not active, and the impact on the committee.

Politico has obtained the most prominent candidate list in the next European election and associated with data from sample polls nationwide. If the election was held, 21 candidates were selected from 12 political parties, which are most likely to be elected to the European Congress. Ten of them will be newly a member of the European Council, and 11 will maintain that position.

Disclaimer: We imagined that the people published in this list would occupy their spots, except for the French Socialist Party Paul Manette. We linked each political party with the EU Group, which we currently belong to. The space was divided according to the space on the applicant's list. Keep in mind that if one of the lower political parties won your own votes, you have the chance to win a higher friend in the party and win.

Political parties: The following are summaries of sample survey results by political party:

-The leftist support: The Green Party may increase the number of European council members from two to four in 2019. The very destructive labor party has the power to overcome the thrilling value with a small margin and acquire one seat.

- Status quo: The right-wing New Flemish Union was the only party to win the most seats in 2014, and the European Conservative and Reformist group is expected to win the same four Eurorepresentatives this time. The national Christian Democrat party will win four seats this time. The far-right party Vlaams Belang is expected to keep its seats. The Flemish Socialist Party will also keep one seat.

- Losers: National liberal parties have lost their vote share. The Alde group is now likely to win four seats compared to six in 2014. The French-speaking Socialist Party will lose from three to two seats.

Belgian representatives non-Brexit: In Belgium, the total number of seats remains unchanged due to Brexit-related redistribution. Whether the UK takes part in the election or not, the country still needs to fill the 21st place.

Unexpected candidate The Franco-speaking liberals have chosen Michel Barnier's son as their third party. Nicolas Barnier was initially going to run for France on French President Emmanuel Macron's "March Republic!" list, but lost out (bitter laugh). Le Soir has found that Barnier Jr.'s inclusion on Michel's list is the result of a friendly agreement between the Belgian and French leaders. Niles Kruis, known as the former European Commissioner for the Netherlands from 2004 to 2014, is running to boost the popularity of Guy Verkhofstadt's Liberal Party.

Each choice is unique. Since federal and local elections are held on the same day, one might assume that the European results would coincide with the national results. Surprisingly, this is not the case. A study of the vote in Belgium's last "three-way election" in 2014 showed that the EU vote was different from the rest of the world.

The Verkhofstadt factor? The notable former prime minister got 5% more votes for his party in the EU elections than he got in his home country. The largest party in Flanders, the Flemish New Alliance, got 5% less votes in the EU elections than it did in its internal elections.

Less is more: EU votes generally perform better in small batches than in national votes. Researchers say this is because voters are more likely to "vote with their heart."

The Politico Belgium Playbook would not have been possible without the help of Kelsey L. Heiss and Arnau Buscatza Guardia. Thanks to Cornelius Hirsch of Poll of Polls and our partners at Le Soir for organizing this issue.

** Message from the European Gambling Bet Association (EGBA): Digitization is being replaced by the buyer purchasing and using it, and it is thought that gambling is no exception. As more players play Internet games and confirm unpleasant games, confusion calls for more responsibilities from gambling companies and special adjustments that can definitely protect them. Don't pay attention to the fact that almost all EU member states have already introduced some forms to adapt to the Internet gambling, this problem has no priority, and the quality of its adaptation is greatly different depending on the state. 。 As a result, the level of customer rights defenders depends on the space of players in the EU. However, this is not enough in the vast online world, and there are many opportunities for players to speak on gambling sites in other countries, and there is a risk that the guarantee of players' customer rights will be minimal.
